James H. Matheny Sr. 1951-2024
Mr. James H. Matheny, Sr, age 73 of Fulton, KY passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024 at his residence. He was born on February 23, 1951 in McKenzie, TN to the late G.W. Matheny and Henrietta Dinkins Matheny Murphey.
James was a member of the Lebanon Church of Christ and was a chicken farmer. He also worked at the former Hubbell, Superior and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Floyd Matheny, whom he married August 23, 1974; a son James Harrison Matheny, Jr (Ann) of Fulton, KY; a daughter, Stacy Michelle Seratt (Kyle) of Wickliffe, KY; four grandchildren, Ellie Matheny of Fulton, KY, Allie Seratt, Kylah Seratt and Sydney Seratt all of Wickliffe, KY; a brother, Ronnie Gene Matheny of Lexington, KY and three sisters; Brenda Kay Ellis (Dennis) of Dresden, TN, Beverly Ann Parham (Mitchell) of Nashville, TN and Rita Gail Perkins of Murray, KY. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Steven Ray Matheny.
A graveside service will be held at 4:30PM Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in the Sunset Cemetery in Dresden, TN. Visitation will be held at the Jackson Funeral Home in Dukedom, TN from 2:15-4PM Wednesday.
