Dragstar World Champion Honored in Gleason

Dragstar World Champion and Gleason native, Justin Melton, was honored at a small surprise ceremony on September 25. The purpose of the ceremony was to honor Melton and hand him a sign that will be put up in the city of Gleason. 

The sign was put into place by Melton’s long-time friend, Damon Chandler, who wanted to honor his friend and his accomplishments. 

“Justin Melton is recognized all throughout the racing world, not only for him being a World Champion, but for his designs and features on these one of a kind dragsters,” Chandler said.

Melton became a World Champion in 2015, where he used a car from friend Danny Payne, where the two worked on the car together. 

Now, Melton and his family work at M&M Racing and build cars for people all across the United States, as well as Canada. 

The signs that honor Melton will be placed in two different ends in Gleason.
