‘The Hill’ Movie Night at Dresden Senior Center

The Dresden Senior Center is hosting a movie night on Tuesday, Nov. 14. The center will begin serving pizza at 6 p.m., with a showing of “The Hill” beginning at 6:30 p.m. “The Hill” is based on an inspirational true story and stars Dennis Quaid and Colin Form. This event is free. The Dresden Senior Center is located at 598 Evergreen St., Dresden.

Christmas Open House at Office on Aging

The Weakley County Office on Aging/Dresden Senior Center is hosting a Christmas Open House on Sunday, Nov. 12, from 1-3 p.m. Finger foods and refreshments will be served. Door prizes will also be given away. The Center is located at 598 Evergreen St., Dresden.

Aunt Maude Christmas Bazaar

The Gleason Methodist Church will host the Aunt Maude Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 11. Guests can eat breakfast with Santa from 9-10:30 a.m. A soup and chili lunch will be served at 11 a.m. This event features the following local vendors:

Annual Skyhawk Rentals St. John’s Fundraiser

Skyhawk Rentals are "cooking out for a cause" again this year. Grab a free lunch on them, although donations are encouraged and accepted to benefit St. John’s Community Services. They’ll be serving burgers and street-style hot dogs.

Discovery Park of America: The “Let it Glow” Walk-thru and Drive-thru

Join Discovery Park of America for the "Let it Glow" opening night on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023. This event will include a kickoff ceremony at 6 p.m. featuring performances from the Jackson Symphony, the Voices of Union City Elementary student choir and a special appearance by Santa Claus. The kick-off ceremony is free for Discovery Park members and $5 for non-members. The “Let it Glow” Walk-thru and Drive-thru are back with even more lights and decorations. The size of the Walk-thru has doubled this year, so leave plenty of time to explore. Sponsored by McDonald’s and ATA. "Let it Glow" Walk-thru and Drive-thru will be open 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. every day excluding Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Vanguard Theatre Presents: Legally Blonde The Musical
