Weakley County Chamber of Commerce Names Erica Moore as Chamber Director

The Weakley County Chamber & Joint Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Erica Moore as Chamber Director, effective November 1, 2024. Moore brings a wealth of experience in communications, leadership, and community service to the role, where she will lead efforts to support local businesses and drive economic growth.

Previously, Moore served as Director of Communications for Weakley County Schools and as Communications Director for Weakley County Government. She has been instrumental in fostering community engagement and promoting growth initiatives, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to collaboration and local development.

“After carefully reviewing resumes and conducting interviews with highly qualified candidates, we are confident that Erica Moore is the right person to lead the Chamber at this time,” said Chamber President Callie Smithson. “Her experience and fresh perspective make her an invaluable addition, and her dedication to serving Weakley County will guide our Chamber into continued growth and success.”

Moore expressed her enthusiasm for the role: “I’m thrilled to take on this position and work with our Chamber members and community leaders to support growth. From our shops to our schools, Weakley County is the best-kept secret in the state, and it’s time to highlight all we have to offer. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and focus on supporting our local businesses, fostering collaboration, and showcasing our county’s success.”

A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Communications and Public Relations, Moore is a 2023 graduate of the Leadership Tennessee Next Program, a 2019 graduate of the WestStar Leadership Program, and a 2017 Leadership Weakley County graduate. She has served in various leadership capacities, including the Leadership Weakley County Board, Dresden Rotary Club, Weakley County Young Professionals, WestStar Alumni Council, American Advertising Federation, Weakley County Civil Rights Board, NWTNDD AAAD Council, Bicentennial Steering Committee, and Tennessee Iris Festival Executive Board.

Moore lives in Martin with her husband, James, Director of the NWTNHRA Nutrition (Meals on Wheels) Program, and their 8-year-old daughter, Hannah.
