Martin Police Department Investigates Shooting

On June 24 at 9:02 p.m.,  a victim reported that his vehicle had been shot at on Main Street near the intersection of Virginia Street. The victim stated that an SUV passed him on Main St. and ran the stop sign at the intersection of Main St. and College St. When the SUV approached Virginia St., it stopped in front of the victim’s vehicle.

A white male passenger exited the SUV on the passenger side with a handgun. The victim drove around the SUV and as he did, the subject fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle. He drove to safety and called 911 to report the incident.

The SUV left the area in an unknown direction of travel.
Further investigation revealed that the victm’s vehicle had been struck by two of the bullets that were fired during the incident. The victim was not harmed.
