Three Dresden High School cheerleaders: Alivia Workman (Senior), Alise Stafford (Junior) and Abigail Kibbler (Sophomore) will be performing in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida on Jan. 1, 2024. They are coached by Danielle Garner, a teacher at Dresden High School, and they are the daughters of Kerry Workman and Tami Workman, Daniel Stafford and Keisha Stafford, and Brandon and Kristin Kibbler, respectively.

These ladies, who have been invited to perform in the pre-game performance, are trophy winners from Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), Universal Dance Association (UDA), National Cheerleaders Association (NCA), National Dance Alliance (NDA) summer camps and Urban Cheerleading Experience (UCE) brands under the Varsity Spirit umbrella.

Team members will travel to Orlando to prepare them for their Citrus Bowl half-time performance. The dancers and cheerleaders will perform in front of 60,000 fans at this popular college football game in the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The Citrus Bowl has been a college football tradition since 1947. The game gives cheerleaders and dancers the opportunity to perform at the seventh-oldest collegiate bowl in the country, as well as the opportunity to visit Universal Studios Orlando.

These girls have worked very hard and held several fundraising events, including hosting a 5K, holding a bake sale, and starting a T-shirt business to help offset the travel costs to The Citrus Bowl. They are extremely appreciative of everyone in the community who has contributed and participated, and also would like to thank their DHS coach, Danielle Garner, for all of her hard work all season.

When asked what they are most looking forward to about the trip and how it felt to be selected as All-Americans, Alivia, Alise and Abigail stated enthusiastically that they are very honored to be selected as All Americans and are very much looking forward to the opportunity to perform at the Citrus Bowl to represent DHS and their community in such a special way. They are extremely excited to visit Universal Studios, as well, on their off-time to enjoy the rides and embrace this entire experience to its fullest.

In addition, Bryleigh Hendrickson, daughter of Mark and Tina Hendrickson, a 7th grader at Dresden Middle School School, is one of more than 800 elementary, junior high and high school cheerleaders and dancers from across the country that will represent Varsity Spirit in the 2023 Thanksgiving Tour at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The individuals invited to perform in this performance are part of a select group of cheerleaders and dancers chosen as All-Americans during Varsity Spirit summer camps across the country. All-Americans are selected via tryout based on either superior cheerleading or dance skills at camps operated by Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), Universal Dance Association (UDA), National Cheerleaders Association (NCA), National Dance Alliance (NDA), or Urban Cheerleading Experience (UCE). Only the top 15% of the cheerleaders and dancers from Varsity Spirit camps earn the chance to march in a holiday parade of this caliber.

Bryleigh will perform with the Varsity Spirit All-Americans in a one-of-a-kind performance through Disney’s Magic Kingdom® Park during Thanksgiving week. Besides enjoying a sunny trip to Orlando, All-Americans will have the opportunity to meet cheerleaders and dancers from across the nation and enjoy a magical holiday season at Walt Disney World® Resort parks.

Bryleigh also did fundraising to help offset her travel costs, and she would like to thank all of her friends, family and local businesses, such as Diana Longman, Agent for State Farm, DeeMart, The Flower Box, Westcoast Firearms, and J.D.’s Barber Shop, for their support. Our local businesses do so much to support our Dresden teams. She would also like to extend a big "thank you" to her DMS Cheer Coaches, Kelly Meeks McGuire and Olivia McAdams. Without their coaching, none of this would be possible.

Bryleigh stated she is honored to be selected as an All American and is excited to cheer at Disney’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, representing both DMS and her community. She added that she is definitely looking forward to visiting Disney World for her first time.
