Dresden High XC Attends Best of the West; Dresden Middle XC Brings Home Hardware at Lexington Race

Dresden High School Lions Cross Country traveled to Obion Central Oct 1st for the Best of the West invitational race. With a time of 23:20, DHS girls were led by Bailey Collie who finished 6th out of 106 other participants. Lily Pash earned 13th place with a time of 24:03. Tess Ogg finished 41st with a time of 28:34 and Molly Robinson finished 61st with a time of 30:34.

DHS boys’ cross-country team placed 8th overall with 168 runners competing. Carson Brownlow-Rendon placed 20th with a time of 19:44, Brice Rother 29th (31:46), Jesse Pash 50th (21:46), Vaughn Bounds 70th (22:26), and Carter Oliver 108 (24:36). DHS XC will travel to Memphis Saturday for the Frank Horton Invitational.

Both boys and girls DMS Lions XC teams brought home hardware at the Lexington Races Tuesday, 30Sept. The girls’ team earned a perfect score of 15 and brought home 1st place. Peyton Oliver led the pack coming in 1st with a time of 12:17 for 2 miles. Also within the top 5 were Sasha Rodriguez 2nd (12:32), Hudson McDaniel 3rd (12:47), Maggie Robinson 4th (13:41) and Nella Wilhite 5th (13:41). Emzy Collins came in 9th with a time of 14:14, and Kinsley Smith 17th (14:50). The JV-girls’ were led by Gwendolyn Bounds who finished 1st with a time of 15:36. Emilee Farrell finished 3rd, Maci Jo Buckley 4th for JV.

DMS boys’ team came in 2nd, missing out on a team 1st place by a single point. Miles Cary finished 2nd with a time of 11:42, followed by Benjamin Pettit (3rd- 11:54). Wyatt Craig placed in the top 20 as well (18th – 12:52), Dax Rainey 34th, and  John Robert Jolley finished 36th. DMS teams travel Friday to Memphis to compete in the Frank Horton Invitational.
