Martin-Westview appears to have things running smoothly. The Chargers took out their wrath on visiting Scotts Hill Friday night, winning 42-0.

It was a well-rounded effort for the Chargers, who ran just 23 plays on offense.

"We did what we needed to do," said Charger coach Jarrod Neal. "I thought we could have had better energy, but we did exactly what we needed to do."

Charger senior quarterback Miles Vincent was 7-9 passing for 156 yards and four touchdowns. Caden Davis had two catches for 76 yards, both touchdowns. Grayson Williams had two grabs for 31 yards and a score.

On the ground, Asa Barnes led the Chargers with three carries for 31 yards. Cody Meeks was only 3-11, but scored a touchdown.

Defensively, Barnes had a pick six and Finn Snider recovered a fumble. Tylon Scott and Snider led the Chargers with six tackles each. The Chargers allowed just two first downs and 65 total yards.

Neal hopes his team is gaining confidence nearing the midpoint of the season.

"They are feeling good, but not cocky. We have to put the work in," Neal said. "We had a good practice today and we need to put ourselves in the right spot to perform well on Friday."

The Chargers visit Dyer County this Friday night. The Choctaws, 2-2, edged Chester County 49-48 in Newbern last Friday night.
