UTM to Host In-Person ACT Workshops

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin Office of University Outreach is offering a series of in-person ACT prep courses at the main campus, Parsons Center and Somerville Center. The in-person sessions are four hours long and cover all four topics related to the test. The cost to attend is $50 per person.

The ACT super-score skill-up workshops, part of the ACT success tactics series, will help students define the challenges of individual subjects and give them the tools to efficiently problem solve. The sessions will be held from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Martin:

    • Feb 4
    • March 4
    • April 8

  • Parsons:

    • March 11
    • June 3

  • Somerville:

    • Feb. 1

An additional session has also been added from 4-8 p.m. on Feb. 28 at the Parsons Center.

UT Martin adjunct faculty member Alex Beene will teach the courses. He currently serves as a lead instructor for the Tennessee Audit Education in three counties and primarily works with rising high school juniors and seniors needing academic help with major standardized testing.

There will also be six online prep sessions, separated into Math and Science and English and

Reading. These are two-hour zoom courses and are $25.
