Phyllis Fhaner Selected as the governor’s Volunteer Stars Award Adult Honoree From Weakley County

Mrs. Fhaner is from Dresden Tennessee and is married to Dick Fhaner.  She is a very active Volunteer at the Weakley County Office on Aging/Dresden Senior Center in Dresden.  She is the most kind, considerate and helpful volunteer.  She always greets you with a smile and is willing to help everyone along the way…. she carries people to Dr. Appointments when needed and always stays by their side if they have surgery or in need of a friend.  She helps with lunches, office work, helps distribute food to the elderly, helps with monthly (night) dances, very active with activities at the center and is always available when needed.  Phyllis was chosen as the 2024 Dresden Senior Center Prom Queen and has represented the center by attending various functions, Paris Fish Fry, Iris Festival Parade, Soybean Festival Parade, Cornfest Festival Parade and several events pertaining to the senior center.

Mrs. Fhaner volunteered numerous years at Wee Care Ministries in Martin Tennessee where she took her job very seriously.  She helped brighten many people’s day with her contagious smile and encouragement along the way.

Phyllis is an active member of West Union Baptist Church where she is very involved with all programs.

Anytime you see Phyllis it warms your heart when you see her smiling face.

A luncheon will be held at the Franklin Marriott in Franklin, TN on Sunday, February 16th to honor all the Governor’s Volunteer Stars Award Honorees across the State.  The Dresden Senior Center will host a reception at a later date after the luncheon.
