Greenfield Man Charged with Child Endangerment

A Greenfield man is now facing a child endangerment charge after repeatedly shaking an infant who would “not stop crying.”

According to an affidavit received by the Weakley County Courthouse, on Thursday, July 18, Greenfield Police Officer Brad Hardin accompanied the Department of Children’s Services (DCS) for an alleged abuse of a four-month-old infant. After speaking with 20-year-old Jordan C. King, Hardin learned that the child was shaken out of frustration because the infant would not stop crying.

King stated he was holding the baby around the torso and under both arms and shook him more than one time. King stated he put the baby down on the bed after shaking him and he stopped crying.

The manner in which King shook the infant could reasonably be expected to cause serious bodily injury to a child of that age and size according to the report by Hardin.

King is being held on a $2,500 bond and is being represented by Martin Dunn. King had his preliminary hearing Wednesday, July 24 at 8:30 a.m. in Judge Tommy Moore’s General Sessions court. The results of the hearing are not yet listed.
