Dresden Middle Girls First in the Dyersburg Middle School Invitational

Out of a total of fourteen schools, Dresen female runners smoked the competition, bringing home a team first. The Tennessee state ranking 4x400 meter relay team does it again and brings home first place (Hudson McDaniels, Peyton Oliver, Nella Wilhite, and Sasha Rodriguez). The 1600 meter race was dominated by Dresden’s Hudson Mcdaniels who finished first with a time of 5:09, Peyton Oliver finishing second with a time of 5:32 and Sasha Rodriguez finishing third with a time of 5:52. Two finished in the top ten in the 400 meter race; McDaniels came in first with a time of 1:04, Maggie Robinson came in close behind with a time of 1:13 finishing third, and Emillee Farrell finished twenty-third. Emzy Collins came in 6th for Dresden in the 200-meter race with a time of 30:09, Rodriguez finished 11th and Emillee Farrell finished 23rd. In the 800-meter race, Dresden had all finishers in the top five competitors; Maggie Robinson came in second with a time of 2:45, Nella Wilhite was close behind earning third with a time of 2:48 and Gwendolyn Bounds came in fifth with a time of 2:57. The 4x200 meter relay team finished sixth overall (Robinson, Kinsley Smith, Bounds, and Collins). Emzy Collins finished 9th in the 100 meter and Kinsley Smith finished top-five, earning fourth in the 100-hurdles. Charlie Kate Harrison took on field events earning 7th for discus and 11th for shot put.

With only five team members, Dresden boys track and field still managed to come in sixth place of fourteen teams. Earning top spots in the 1600 meter open were Miles Cary finishing second with a time of 5:15 followed closely by Benjamin Pettit with a time of 5:21, and Gavin Bryson finishing  fourth with a time of 5:34. The 4x400 meter relay team earned fourth place overall (Cary, Dax Rainey, Pettit, Bryson). Miles Cary was third in the 800-meter open with a time of 2:26. Dax Rainey finished ninth. Sebastian Hubbard competed in discus and shotput earning tenth place in both. Hubbard also competed in the men’s 200 meter open (18th). In the 400-meter open, Pettit tied for sixth place with a time of 1:03, Bryson (8th), and Rainey (20th). 

With only two track meets remaining, Dresden will travel to Paducha, KY Tuesday, 29MAY2025, and again 13MAY2025  to compete in the McCracken County Invitational.
